McCoy

Mrs. Lengal’s 2nd grade class at McCoy Elementary recently wrapped up an exciting animal research project that combined writing, creativity, and a lot of curiosity. Each student selected an animal to study—ranging from Great White Sharks and Horny Toads to Tigers, Horses, and Ravens.

After gathering facts and learning about habitats, diets, and unique characteristics, students wrote reports to showcase what they had learned. But the learning didn’t stop there. To bring their research to life, each student also created a diorama that reflected their animal’s environment.

The finished projects were proudly displayed in the classroom, with students beaming beside their work. It was a perfect blend of science, literacy, and hands-on creativity.

“We wanted students to not only learn how to research, but also to express their understanding in multiple ways,” said Mrs. Lengal. “They were so proud of their work—and they should be!”

The display drew admiration from teachers, staff, and visiting district personnel, who praised the students for their effort and imagination.

Great job, 2nd grade! Your hard work and enthusiasm truly brought the animal kingdom to McCoy Elementary.
